Nick Fondacaro broke a story on how debate moderate Jake Tapper’s show aired a nasty hit piece that spurred a defamation lawsuit from a man named Zachary Young working to evacuate people out of Afghanistan. Internal messages show profane malice from reporter Alex Marquardt and others. It’s no one’s idea of idealistic investigative journalism. It sounds like Gotcha journalism.

In messages found by Young’s lawyers, Marquardt said he wanted to “nail this Zachary Young mfucker” and thought the story would be Young’s “funeral.” On that declaration of wanting to “nail” Young, CNN editor Matthew Philips responded: “gonna hold you to that cowboy!”

When Marquardt notified Young that CNN would be publishing a story about him, and gave him only two hours to respond, he was upset when Young replied. Marquardt messaged a colleague, “fucking Young just texted.” CNN did not respond to our request for a response.

Monday’s CNN This Morning illustrated the network’s long-standing arrogance, petulance, and version to outside criticism as host Kasie Hunt had a conniption when Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt merely pointed out the basic fact that the two moderators for Thursday’s CNN debate — Dana Bash and Jake Tapper — have long records of bias against Trump and the wider MAGA movement. Hunt began by recalling videos of Trump speaking about the upcoming debate, visually annoyed with his words she introduced Leavitt.

Something must have been in the Hunt’s coffee, for, as soon as the politics segment began, the hosts seemed a combination of peeved and forlorn. After introducing Leavitt and asking her how Trump would improve from 2020, Leavitt briefly pointed out an issue that has and will plague the GOP in debates past and future in biased moderators.

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is declaring firearm violence in the U.S. a public health crisis, not only for the tens of thousands who die from gun violence each year but also due to far-reaching trauma that impacts the wider population.

In his advisory, the first time a Surgeon General has declared a public health advisory on gun violence, Murthy highlights recent statistics on gun violence in the U.S. which show a consistent rise in deaths due to firearm-related injuries.

And of course the reason they’re doing this, pretending that guns are just wandering around shooting people by themselves, like thunderstorms, is because government employees aren’t willing to take steps against the root cause, which is People Behaving Badly, and want to use the excuse of ‘public health’ to put more restrictions on gun ownership.

The biggest step we could take to reduce ‘gun violence’ is to ban black males below the age of 30 from possessing firearms. But that will never happen, so we’re faced with all of this hand-waving and wheel-spinning.

San Francisco United School District’s LGBTQ Student Services department offers guidance on “Changing Your Name and/or Gender” in the district’s systems. The document offers a note “for students to think about,” recommending they wait to change their in the school records if they are not ready for their parents to find out their gender identity.

“Remember that your caregivers have the right to check out some of your school files, Google Classroom, or may end up on a Zoom call or meeting with you and staff at your school, and may see/hear that you are using a different name or pronoun,” the note reads. “If you are concerned about your caregiver’s response, you may not be ready to complete any of the above processes.”

It’s unclear why the district refers to parents as “caregivers.”

If they gave a care they wouldn’t put their kids in government schools.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan’s latest drop of (R-OH) Amazon Files uncovered that the Big Tech giant suppressed at least 43 books at the behest of President Joe Biden’s administration.

The third installment of The Amazon Files, released Friday, revealed that the Biden administration pressured tech giant Amazon to censor vaccine-critical books that came out even before the COVID-19 vaccine. “Under the guise of combatting ‘anti-vaccine’ misinformation, Amazon censored everything from picture books for children to books criticizing Big Pharma,” Jordan wrote in an X post.

Jordan shared screenshots of internal emails at Amazon revealing that employees “create[d] a new [Do Not Promote] class for anti-vax books.” The employee added, “The impetus for this request is criticism from the Biden administration about sensitive books we’re giving prominent placement to, and should be handled urgently.” The emails further show a discussion about whether books should be “remove[d] from sale” since they were often sought out by name rather than being discovered by general searches.

The Social Security Administration is eliminating more than 100 obsolete jobs from its list of occupations it used for years to deny disability benefits to Americans under claims that they could earn money by finding jobs in those fields.

The agency had been using federal labor market data that in some cases had not been updated in almost 50 years, and some of the jobs that are now eliminated were “notorious examples of our failure to stay up to date,” according to Commissioner Martin O’Malley.

“The LA Gator Program puts parents in the driver’s seat and gives every child the opportunity for a great education,” said Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, a Republican. “When parents are committed to the value of their child’s education, government should never get in the way.”

And it seems many of these parents are moving to homeschooling to ensure their children are getting a well-rounded, trustworthy education. This, however, has received pushback.

The editors of Scientific American magazine published an article last month claiming “children deserve uniform standards in homeschooling.” And what does this look like? The idea the editors had in mind is that “home­school parents could be required to pass an initial background check, as every state requires for all K-12 teachers.”

Scientific American is concerned that the growth of homeschooling is a “problem” since it’s hard to keep track of how many children are being homeschooled these days. “Some children may not be receiving any instruction at all,” the editors wrote. “In the worst cases, homeschooling hides abuse.”

Hard to see how homeschooling could be worse than the abuse and lack of instruction kids are receiving in government schools.

A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ‘Experts Group’ that included deep state ‘laptop letter’ partisans James Clapper and John Brennan, advocated using Jan. 6 and the Mar-a-Lago raid to justify expanding surveillance of political dissent.

This latest bombshell comes from America First Legal, which is suing the Biden DHS along with former acting DNI Richard Grenell over the September 2023 formation of the “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group,” which they have accused of violating the Federal Advisory Committee Act due to lack of balance and transparency.

In 1976, Saul Steinburg’s hilarious “View of the World from 9th Avenue” was published on the cover of the New Yorker. The map showed Manhattan occupying most of the known world with wilderness on the other side of the Hudson River between New York and San Francisco. With the Trump trial, Manhattan has become a type of legal wilderness where prosecutors use the legal system to hunt down political rivals and thrill their own supporters. New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) ran on a pledge to bag former president Donald Trump. (She also sought to dissolve the National Rifle Association.)

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg also pledged to get Trump. Neither specified how they would do it, but both were elected and both were lionized for bringing controversial cases against Trump.

Israeli victims of Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror attack are suing the United Nations’ leading aid organization in the Gaza Strip, alleging that the organization “led a billion-dollar money laundering operation that funded Hamas” and enabled the terror group to carry out last year’s unprecedented strike that killed more than 1,200.

The lawsuit was filed on Monday in New York federal court by MM~LAW on behalf of more than 100 Israeli victims of the Oct. 7 attack. It alleges that the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the internationally funded aid delivery group in Gaza, spent years laundering billions in donor cash to Hamas, “greatly reducing humanitarian aid provided to Gaza residents and playing a key role in the October 7 attack,” according to a summary of the lawsuit provided to the Washington Free Beacon.

The lawsuit comes just months after Israel provided evidence that at least a dozen of UNRWA’s employees participated in Hamas’s terror massacre and that nearly 200 more double as “hardened” militants for the Iran-backed group. UNRWA employees were also found to be hiding Israeli hostages in their home, and the Israeli military has shown proof that many of the militants killed on the battlefield were UNRWA employees.

Most of the perpetrators of “violence in Berlin are young, male and have a non-German background. This also applies to knife violence,” says Barbara Slowik, the police commissioner of Berlin. In an interview with broadcaster n-tv, she talked about the recent spate of knife attacks in Germany, mostly committed by migrants—particularly young Afghan men.

“In recent years, we have definitely seen an increase [in knife attacks] in Berlin, especially among children, young people and adolescents. Knife perpetrators are getting younger,” she said, adding that there has been an increase in violent crime overall in the capital, and that non-Germans, i.e., foreigners, are overrepresented.

The recent murder of a police officer by an Afghan failed asylum seeker shocked Germany and fuelled the debate on illegal immigration, migrant crime and whether Afghan criminals should be deported. The killing led to some politicians calling for knives to be banned in public places. Barbara Slowik said no tangible steps to introduce such a ban are currently planned. “If you look at the locations where the police have had to deal with knife crimes in Berlin, they are spread over almost the entire urban area. There is no one hotspot,” she explained.

The Justice Department’s Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general for civil rights, will be hit with three ethics complaints and a criminal referral Monday, The Daily Signal has learned.

Article III Project is filing both the ethics complaints and criminal referral, which calls upon Attorney General Merrick Garland to open a criminal probe into Clarke on the grounds that she “knowingly and willfully” made “materially false statements” and that she committed “perjury.”

“There is ample evidence to support this referral for false statements and perjury,” Mike Davis, founder and president of Article III Project, said in the criminal referral. Davis’ organization is focused on defending constitutionalist judges, opposing radical judicial nominees, and pushing back on “radical assaults on judicial independence” such as court-packing.

Illegal migrants are being provided with voter registration forms without requiring proof of citizenship, the NY Post reports.

The forms, available in every state except Arizona – which recently passed a law barring the practice on state (but not federal) forms, are used to obtain welfare benefits, driver’s licenses, and in many cases mail-in ballot voter registration forms.

There is currently no federal law requiring proof of citizenship on voter forms, though it is illegal to lie and claim citizenship in order to cast a ballot in a federal election.

So if an applicant says they are a US citizen, that’s enough to be able to register to vote.

Qatar, the oil-rich gulf monarchy that harbors Hamas and other terrorist groups, has used a number of conduits to influence unwitting American audiences: tens of millions of dollars in funding for universities, think tanks, military museums, and alleged bribes to prominent members of Congress. A Qatari-backed front group, Yemen Crisis Watch, paid $250,000 to travel journalist Burt Wolf from September 2017 to January 2018 for a documentary about the war in Yemen that aired on PBS affiliates, according to previously unreported filings with the Department of Justice. The documentary was part of Qatar’s sprawling propaganda operation against two adversaries, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, according to federal prosecutors.

In the 30-minute documentary, Doug Watts, a longtime Republican operative who founded Yemen Crisis Watch, touts the organization as “all about raising awareness” about humanitarian issues in Yemen stemming from a war between Iran-backed Houthi rebels and a Saudi-led coalition. Wolf ends the show with a rebuke of Westerners for failing to heed the message of religious leaders Jesus, Moses, and Buddha in relation to Yemen. “When you think about what’s going on in places like Yemen, you’ve got to wonder why people are not getting their message,” said Wolf, who has produced thousands of travel shows for CNN, ABC, and public broadcasting.

Intercepted messages obtained by the Wall Street Journal show that Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ military leader in Gaza, is evading a ceasefire-and-hostage deal to prolong the war and escalate the Palestinian death toll. Sinwar sees advantage in martyrdom.

“We have the Israelis right where we want them,” he said in a recent message to Hamas officials in Qatar, according to the Journal.

Sinwar was referring to the impossible scenario the Israeli military finds itself in, where the IDF must risk and often sacrifice the lives of Palestinian civilians to root out the Hamas terrorists who perpetrated the Oct. 7 massacre. However, while the BLS will be able to maintain the facade of “strong job gains” lies into early 2025, the dismal reality has already made an appearance in America’s largest labor market.

According to the latest report published by the non-partisan California Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) which is an agency of the California government, is overseen by the Joint Legislative Budget Committee of the California State Legislature, and performs and publishes extensive analyses of the state’s budget in addition to providing fiscal and policy advice to the California Legislature, contrary to prior reports of over substantial job gains in the deep blue state in 2023, the reality was far uglier.

Unknown terrorists went on a rampage using automatic weapons against religious sited in Dagestan, Russia on Sunday night. Authorities in the southern Russian republic situated in the Caucuses say that police officers were killed and wounded as the gunman targeted a synagogue and an Orthodox church.

At least nine are dead, and 25 injured. An Orthodox priest was also slain. A fire also resulted at the synagogue, with emergency response crews subsequently battling the blaze. Some reports say that two Orthodox churches were hit in the assault, and that a priest was killed.

Let’s see: Attacking churches and synagogues, so probably not Christians or Jews … wonder who that could be … space aliens? Chinese Communists on a party weekend? Hmmm. That’s a puzzler….

Well, that’s good enough, as far as it goes, and probably a step in the right direction – but I notice that, of the four kids shown in the picture, not one is a white male child. So I’m curious as to what their ‘target demographic’ might be.

When my parents were teens (during the Great Depression, I might point out), high school was widely recognized as the terminal educational institution that most kids would attend, and so it had vocational training like Shop and domestic training like Home Ec to prepare kids to go out and get a job and start a family, which is what most of them were going to do.

By contrast, when I was in high school, it was all about going to college, and if you weren’t headed toward college they didn’t have all that much interest in you. (I remember one class where we were told to come prepared to discuss  five colleges where we intended to apply.)

So that really represents a regression to pre-industrial-revolution times in which  you only went to school if you were going on to university; otherwise, you were on your own.

A fatal stabbing inside a bodega in Queens on Saturday night reignited calls from some shop owners for more state and federal assistance with security measures.

Police said a man was fatally stabbed inside a bodega on Jamaica Avenue around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday. Responding officers found the victim unconscious with multiple stab wounds to the neck and shoulder, and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, the NYPD said.

Police said no arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The basic case for missile defense is quite simple: nuclear weapons aren’t something you want detonating in your country, and shooting them down seems like a good idea. But as appealing as this is, it is usually countered by a pair of counterarguments, that it’s far too hard to shoot down all incoming missiles, and that it would be destabilizing if it was possible. But this relies on the basic premise that any missile defense system which can’t shoot down all missiles is useless, and there’s no reason that would be true unless someone was smuggling it in to defeat missile defense for other reasons. (We’ll come back to that in a bit.) A system which stops 50% of incoming missiles means that only half as many people will die in a nuclear war,1 obviously a desirable result.

There are so many aspects of the October 7 attacks that were horrific – but one element that can get lost in the focus on the more barbaric events involves the Palestinian workers who, prior to 10/7, were gainfully employed in Israel. Many of them (we don’t know how many, but a substantial number) acted as spies for Hamas while they were pretending to be friendly to the Israelis they would be helping to torture, murder, and rape.

The program was meant not only to help Palestinians economically, but to show goodwill and most of all to lay the groundwork for better relations between Israel and the Palestinians. The Palestinians’ betrayal of all this goodwill was profound; one can hardly imagine a worse one. The resulting destruction of all trust the Israelis might have still retained up to 10/7 in the word of Palestinians and the potential goodwill of the ordinary Palestinian “man in the street” meant that it would be difficult or actually impossible for any such program or any such rapprochement again.

My, what a surprise. Time to wake up and smell the jihad.

Actually, they never stopped. You almost have to admire their work ethic, even if you disagree with their goals and methods. The basic message: it’s possible that you peons may be able to elect Trump – although we’ll do our very best to prevent that – but he certainly won’t be allowed to govern. We know better than you, and when we say “our democracy” we mean ours, not yours.
