Comment: Now, could we please stop talking about how we need more taxes to pay for roads and bridges or to help the poor? The main function of our government is to write checks to middle-class and wealthy voters. And that’s the reason its finances are in the toilet.

Wait–didn’t you just tell me three or four posts ago that the main function of our government is to write checks to poor voters in order to foster a Culture of Dependency and keep them voting how they ‘should’? Now you tell me that it’s writing checks to middle-class and wealthy voters…
So which is it? Could it be you just (gasp!) don’t know?
You know, you could at least try to be consistent.

Creating government dependents is the plan. Like most things that involve government, the plan and what actually happens are two different (sometimes wildly different) things.
