It was inevitable. As the labor picture moves closer and closer to being dominated by the information and service sectors and farther and farther from the kinds of work at which men hold an advantage–the “heavy lifting” stuff–men’s lower inclination for communication talents will become a detriment even as their greater strength loses its value.
As with all things, a new balance will be reached as the labor market changes. We may soon be seeing men complaining about “equal pay for equal work”. The irony is palpable.
