5th October 2021

Read it.

I am a professor who just had a prestigious public science lecture at MIT cancelled because of an outrage mob on Twitter. My crime? Arguing for academic evaluations based on academic merit. This is the story of how a cancellation is carried out, why it should worry all of us, and what we can do to stop this dangerous trend.

Didn’t Lenin and Mao make a point of taking over institutions of higher learning?

According to the commiecrats, advancement should not be based on merit but rather on politics.

Before someone’s panties get in a wad, that party hasn’t been democratic in 50 years. If you don’t like the term I use, then I would propose an equally descriptive term: The Gimmedats.

Commiecrats make no distinction between ‘merit’ and ‘political correctness’. The problem with the term ‘meritocracy’ is that it is a generic appellation that can cover a wide range of systems depending upon how (and who) ‘merit’ is defined. Britain had a meritocracy in which ‘merit’ was defined as ‘noble descent’.
