Long-term trends, my friend, trump short-term gains or losses. I would have expected even a reactionary to know that.
Reactionaries do know that, and they’re better at science than progressives, which is why all this the-sky-is-falling handwaving does not impress. There is no such ‘long-term trend’ except in the dreams of the pseudo-scientists who, when they don’t like the evidence they find, go out and find some evidence they like.
