Who’s Smarter: Joe Biden or Yogi Berra?
16th August 2012
The question almost answers itself.
Admit it: when Joe opens his mouth, you feel a lot smarter than you did right before he opened his mouth.

One name: Dan Quayle.
The Republicans are still behind in the count.

Oh, but Dennis, I think you have forgotten a few. I’ll see your Dan Qualyle and raise you: Janet Reno, Joycelyn Elders and Al Gore.
Elders alone smashes Quayle’s gaffs.

But Elders is not, and never was, Vice President.

Come on man! That’s lame.
Biden alone beats Quayle hands down and any other “right winger” you want to put up. Can you image the reaction to Quayle telling a paraplegic to stand up? If it weren’t so sad it would be funny. 1.) revealing location of multimillion dollar secret bunker 2. “you need an Indian accent to go into a Seven Eleven… 3. FDR addresses the American people on television… 4. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” (For Pete’s sake Trent Lott lost his job for saying less.) 5. About the still living mother of the Iris prime minister: “God rest her soul,” he said, though he again quickly realized his error. “Wait, your mom’s still alive! It was your dad who passed. God bless her soul!”
There is no way a Republican could survive these alone.

Quayle:
“We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a *part* of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a *part* of Europe.”
“What a waste it is to lose one’s mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.” (He was trying to say, A mind is a terrible thing to waste.)
“[It’s] time for the human race to enter the solar system.”
“Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things.”
“I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy – but that could change.” (Yogi Bera at his finest…)
“We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur.”
“I stand by all the misstatements that I’ve made.”
And my personal favorite:
“The future will be better tomorrow.”
The prosecution rests.

**The prosecution rests.** ???
Yea, no comparison. As Steve Martin says some people have a way with words and others, well…no have way. No doubt Dan “no have way” but come on, telling a paraplegic to stand up??? Dan didn’t top that one.
