DYSPEPSIA GENERATION

We have seen the future, and it sucks.

‘You Didn’t Lose Your Job. Somebody Else Made That Happen.’

22nd July 2012

The Other McCain piles on.

The unemployment applications exceeded forecasts by 21,000 and that’s just “typical,” eh? Unemployment is just “somewhat elevated,” eh?

And by the way, does anyone remember the Labor Department’s unemployment numbers being revised downward during this administration? Or am I correct in suspecting that the initial report pretty much always understates the numbers, and then they come back to “revise upward” later on when they think we won’t notice?

One Response to “‘You Didn’t Lose Your Job. Somebody Else Made That Happen.’”

  1. Dennis Nagle Says:

From the comments following the article:
“However, you need some evidence for the implication the Labor Department figures are being manipulated. They are never accurate the first time and never have been. And the tendency has been to underestimate initial claims – for years, long before we were afflicted with Obama.”
    All that need be said.

You didn’t lose your job. The banks who refuse to lend did that.
(They’re too busy playing roulette for a quick hit in the short-term markets to worry about lending to business. Return on capital investment is waaaaay too slow.)
