I saw Carlin on stage back in the late 90’s, and was sad to discover that he wasn’t funny anymore, just angry and bitter.
Life takes its toll.
But the clip makes a significant point: ‘Leftist’ and ‘tree-hugger’ concern for the state of the planet is not altruism, it is enlightened self-interest.

Carlin did become extremely bitter after the death of his wife. Sad, really.
My favorite from Carlin was, “Bacon is worth dying for!”
