More Doctors Are Ditching the Old Prescription Pad

17th May 2012

Read it.

Speed the day. Bad handwriting has caused more medical problems than venal Congressmen.

At the end of 2011, 36 percent of all prescriptions were electronic _ the doctor wrote it by computer and sent it directly to the pharmacy with the push of a button, the report found. That’s up from 22 percent of prescriptions that were paperless a year earlier.

That’s the way my doctor does it, and it’s tremendously convenient to drive back from an office visit to the pharmacy to have the stuff waiting for me to pick up.
