Certainly the IRS ought to be doing your taxes. All this crap is reported to them anyway, and they’re going to run their own calculations; why should we have to waste all of our time doing what they’re being paid to do?

If we allowed the IRS to do our taxes, there would be no deductions at all on the returns. We would still have to do that part ourselves, but we would also have to fight with the IRS to get our money back, and probably lose.
