When a Woman’s Right to Choose Results in Fewer Women – in the U.S.
4th April 2012
So the question remains, are those who oppose any restriction on sex-selective abortion as an adjunct of women’s rights, willing to live with the consequence that this choice results in fewer women being born? I imagine the answer will be yes for most, but at least people should be honest about the consequences of their choice.

I’m all in favor. Fewer women in this generation means fewer total people in the next generation, since population growth is a function of the number of child-bearing females in the population. Since we’re busy automating ourselves right out of the labor market, shrinking the population is the only real answer to poverty and unemployment and all their attendant ills.

The population decline is more likely to occur because changing the M/F ratio provides an incentive for war and a high number of competitive males to do the fighting for your side.

The other thing to consider is that among those who are agitating the most for a Woman’s Right to Choose (TM) there are a fair number for whom “It’s all about ME!” They do not think about the consequences of their actions, or even that their actions will have consequences. They firmly believe in the free lunch, and that even if said lunch is not, strictly speaking, free, it can and should be paid for by Someone Else.
