Hey look, here’s a big omnibus article by David Pimentel of the Florida Costal School of Law on all the ways you are potentially legally screwed if you let your kid do stuff that was considered normal at some point in the less intensively parented past.

When my kids were little, I worried a lot more about losing them to Child Protective Services — who will remove kids from their families based on the flimsiest of unsubstantiated accusations from anonymous busybodies — than I did about them being kidnapped by strangers. As a home schooling mother I was a very inviting target, since so many people think any parent who doesn’t turn her kids over to the government for “education” is ipso facto unfit.
