    OK, I’ll bite. WHat’s the fundamental difference between Putin and a typical American Democrat? I mean, apart from the superficial differences entailed in American Democrats’ denial of their tyrannical bent?

    Tactical differences aside, I don’t see much of substance that differentiates Putin and the American Democratic Party.

    Oh, you wrote “democrat”–generic class. Well, I guess since you referred to a class of (possibly) genuine democrats, there is a substantial set of differentiating factors between that class and Putin (and the Democratic Party, for that matter).
