Londonistan: Shariah-Controlled Zones
29th July 2011
We posted a couple of weeks ago about the appearance of “shariah-controlled zone” posters in the Waltham Forest area of East London. There was some speculation in the comments on that post about whether these posters were authentically Islamic, or whether they were perhaps put up by anti-jihad activists trying to discredit Muslims. And they did seem somewhat more explicitly fundamentalist than most Muslim propaganda, with the possible exception of the ravings of the notorious firebrand Anjem Choudary.

Ho-hum. I’m going to start putting up posters advising that certain areas of my city are “Nagle-Law Controlled Zones; No Bullshit, No Being a Dick, No Chastity, No Abstinance”. Think it will work? Will people get nervous?
There is a vast difference between posting some placards and being able to actually enforce same. When/if they attempt to enforce it is the time to get worried and involved. Until then it’s just ranting.

Amazingly delusional, Dennis. At what point will you recognize the destruction of western culture by people who aren’t legally supposed to be there?
Then again, maybe your Invisible Hand put those posters up.

The “Destruction of Western Culture”? Didn’t know posting a few placards on the street could accomplish that. Amazingly delusional, indeed…
At what point will YOU recognize that paranoia masquerading as Cultural Defense is a poor substitute for rational thought?
