Unions’ political action committees have contributed $4.75 million to federal candidates this year through the end of March, according to the Center’s research. In 2009, union PACs donated $8.44 million — and in 2007, union PACs donated $6.77 million — through the same period.

I notice no mention is made of the billions every year funneled to Republican candidates by various business and lobbying interests…

And those business and lobbying interests would be … who? Since you are so knowledgeable on the subject, no doubt you can give us the names and numbers.
Pardon my skepticism, but business and lobbying interests give money to politicians who can (a) get them favors (preferably money) from the government, or (b) protect them when the government is out wandering around raping industries, and I don’t see the Republicans having a lot of power to help out in either scenario. Business and lobbying interests tend to put their money where it will bring some return (sorry if this is a surprise to you).

Modern Democrats just have no respect for tradition these days. They just won’t stay bought …
