When recruiters are smooth talking those 17 year olds into signing up, they have to lay out the potential for being assigned to a base that’s in a nice environment. (Present issue exempted) Other than Germany, most overseas locations are real s*** holes. A newscaster visiting his son during the Korean war said, “Mothers, if you son is in Korea, write him a letter. If he’s in Casper, Wyoming, pray for him.” Germany has green trees, mild climate, lots of beer, and girls who don’t smell like camels.
