Why Is Haiti Uniquely Miserable?

Back in 2018, President Donald Trump referred to Haiti as a “s**thole,” and was roundly denounced for being a racist. While watching a clip of a “cannibal gang” member eating a piece of roasted human leg on the streets of Port-au-Prince the other night (it’s revolting; you have been warned), it struck me that Trump’s judgment has held up pretty well.

Let’s see…the state religion is what now? oh yeah .. Voodoo.
This island is in a unique location. As it can grow nearly any food where the seed id dropped, gets ample rain, plenty of moderate sunshine. Near perfect weather. And yet the people starve, water is contaminated, politics is corrupt. Lawlessness abounds and why is it they are this way?
