Mohammed is becoming increasingly popular as a name for newborn baby boys in Germany. Sweden and the U.K. are already well ahead in this regard, where Mohammed may even be #1. If not, it will be soon.
Anyone who looks askance at this trend is immediately demonized as a racist and a xenophobe. But really, why would anyone want to celebrate the ascendancy of Islamic names for babies in Bremen or Dresden? What sort of place will Germany be in twenty years, when the majority of youngsters are Muslims with an ethnic heritage in the Middle East or Africa? Why is this considered a good thing?
