No, you’re wrong: “disenfranchise” is an acceptable variant of “disfranchise.” The latter was a new word to me, in fact dictionary.com says the latter is less commonly used.

There is no ‘the dictionary’. Anybody can put out a book and call it a dictionary, and many such books are merely documentation of how people use words, not of what words actually mean based on etymology and history. This is how ‘progressives’ and other statists succeed in changing it to suit their agenda. Resist it, steadfast in the faith.
