As I reflect on the profound impact masking has had on social life over the past two years, I can’t help but wonder how our national unmasking may prove to be more transformative than we expect. What features of our masked world are likely to carry over into the future and which will fade?

    I barely noticed the masks for the duration of the ‘pandemic’. I’d put on a mask if in store, but just to be polite; other than that, nada.

    The better half being a frequent flyer, has been wearing a N95 respirator, on flights, for a couple of decades. Was getting tired of catching something every other trip of hers.

    Which is fine, of course. The issue is that it ought to be an individual choice: If I fear infection, I wear a mask, but I ought not to be permitted to force YOU to wear a mask just so I won’t be infected.
