I built Heathkit stuff in high school and the Navy. They were first-rate.

I still have the Heathkit “Mohican” that I built in 1965, when I was 17. Unfortunately it no longer works, but I imagine that replacing the condensers and perhaps some of the transistors would bring it back to life.
