Do you drive a car powered by millions of explosions of gasoline or diesel fuel? You are already riding along on a bomb.

The problem with the Tesla is not the nature of the fuel, or even that of the IT, but the nature of the drivers. Idiots die sooner than other sorts. Should it be otherwise?

Is there some non-dangerous option out there? Hell, you are *driving,* dude. Your biggest danger is not the fuel you use. A much greater danger is other drivers. A greater danger than that: road conditions. By far the greatest danger: yourself.

Mind, I’m no advocate for any fuel in particular. No skin in that game, of any sort. But the danger of hydrogen explosion versus gasoline explosion is just not going to register, compared to the danger of human error.

PS: Should say also that I would never buy a Tesla, not least in part due to your efforts here. Why *add* unnecessary risk?

My point is that when there is a risky choice and a less risky choice, the less risky choice is to be preferred. I would much prefer to ride in a vehicle powered by alcohol than by gasoline for exactly that reason — but acquiring and maintaininng an alcohol-powered vehicle is more trouble than it’s worth. Using a gas-powered car versus a hydrogen-powered car doesn’t suffer from that disability.

We all take the risks we deem acceptable.
