I once heard a doctor discussing the fact that excess vitamins are ejected by the kidneys and people were wasting their time and money taking so many vitamins. He concluded, “Americans have the most expensive urine in the world.”
Well, the water-solulable vitamins are — Vitamin D, which is fat-soluble, is retained by the body, which is why one can have (and ought to worry about avoiding) an overdose of Vitamin D. But I suspect that many people would rather piss away excess vitamins than take the chance of a deficiency. First World problem.
