Twitter Asks Democratic Candidate to Remove Post
2nd September 2020
How bad was it? It was so bad….
Once in a blue moon, Twitter actually targets the left. Twitter urged Democratic House candidate Elizabeth Hernandez to remove a tweet on September 1 that the platform claimed violated its policies.
Hernandez is running against Republican Rep. Kevin Brady in Texas’s 8th Congressional District. In the tweet that Twitter claimed violated its policies, Hernandez’s campaign account responded to a supporter who was bemoaning that some Texan relatives support President Donald Trump. The August 18 response allegedly stated, “Thank you! And remind all of your Trump supporting relatives to vote on Wednesday, November 4! (Since they’re Trump supporters, they might fall for it. Just saying….)” The response also included a laughing emoji.
I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked.

Brady is a useless twit, but he at least votes the right way and this is one of the most solid Republican areas in Texas. (The Democratic Party HQ in the county is in an old building that includes a discount funeral parlor.) The Left is trying to say this event shows that Twitter is policing posts fairly, but I doubt if anyone other than Pelosi could say that with a straight face. (In her case, Botox makes it work.) Hernandez’ web page is fairly hilarious to read. There’s a very lengthy discussion on how she supports the Second Amendment “..but,..” not really. Likewise she’s appalled at the national debt but “..In the business world, it is never an acceptable response to ignore critical needs due to cost alone.” (I don’t know where she worked, but I can guarantee every place I worked functioned strictly on cost.) And she’s a fan of AOC’s Green Initiative. AOC’s popularity here is less than that for mosquitoes.
