The Fed preemptively promised months ago to cover the shortfalls, because the dollar is invincible and inflation is impossible so there’s nothing to worry about. Didn’t you see we trimmed the balance sheet a bit last week? Oh, the market dropped 3% over those five days? Purely coincidental!
