One is reminded of the infamous Judge Roy Bean who once shot a fellow over some minor offense. When he searched the body, he found a $20 gold piece and a pistol, so he fined him $20 for having a concealed weapon.
Before someone thinks such things don’t happen in the West, let me add that the American government is clever enough to wait for a bit before making such things public. Look at Waco or the MOVE incident in Philadelphia: After it’s all over, long hearings are held behind closed doors and the end result is that the people who died are found to be guilty.
