Back when Lloyd Benson was running for the VP, I watched a group of Dems practicing all morning for a speech Benson was giving at lunch time. They had a stand-in do the walk from the limo to the podium, shaking hands and such, over and over until they got it all down pat. They used a baby doll for the practice, with a live baby getting kissed when Benson showed up. It’s all about the show.
To pad the size of the audience, they had vendor carts set up and they informed all the homeless shelters that there would be free hotdogs and beer at the rally. It was 95 degrees that day (Houston) and half the audience was dressed in 5 layers of clothes. Hilarious to watch the bums arguing with the cart operators because all they got was a small glass of beer.
