And they’ll party like its 1999 until most of them lose their gigs because the companies can’t afford to ’employ’ them all because of raised costs.
I wouldn’t be surprised if one or both of the companies just took a look at the numbers, realized they can’t make a profit under these new regulations, and just shut up shop in the state, throwing all of the snowflakes out of work. That would really be a win, wouldn’t it? Certain for the businesses that Uber and Lyft are ‘disrupting’; those people would really party. And the snowflakes would be sitting on the curb with empty pockets saying to themselves “Wait a minute — I thought we won.”

McDonald’s employees strike for higher wages, never imagining kiosks that allow customers to order directly.
Uber/Lyft drivers demand expensive bennies, never dreaming that the self-driving cars under development are intended to replace them.
Self-checkouts outnumber human cashiers in most WalMarts and major grocery stores.
The lowest cost service always wins.
