After 150 Years, Heinz Finally Told Us the Best Way to Pour Ketchup

9th September 2019

Read it.

If, of course, that’s what you want to do.

I always use those little plastic packets (available for free from any fast-food restaurant), laying them carefully on the table and using a Xacto knife to put a small nick in one end. Then you hold it over the food with the nick toward the food, put two fingers on either side of the packet, and slowly run your fingers from the top to the bottom, neatly extracting the sauce.

Or you can just put them on the table and slam them with your fist. If you hold your hand correctly all of the sauce will go on your companions instead of yourself. This is especially handy when faced with armed assailants.

For as little ketchup as I use on any given meal, I’m happy to splurge the extra $3 a bottle and get the Sir Kensington brand ketchup. Next trip to the store spend a moment and compare the ingredients between Heinz and SK brands… Sorry, I don’t think it comes in foil packets. 🙁
