One Response to “Democratic Socialism or Social Democracy?”

  1. RealRick Says:

    A TL;DR version:

A small group of people (i.e., Tim’s “The Crust”) believes that they are way smarter than anyone else (“The Peasants”). They intend to rule over those lesser humans, enjoying what they consider to be well-deserved freedom and wealth, and in exchange for blind obedience, The Peasants will enjoy “Free Stuff”, which consists of second-class food, shelter, and medical attention.

Ant colonies work like this. Also, feudal kingdoms, communism, fascism, and all of the equivalently titled Socialist euphemisms. Antebellum plantations used the same formula to pick a lot of cotton. (A good slave could cost the equivalent of half a million dollars; if he broke a leg, you called the doctor.) Northern factories of the same period were much less kind to their workers, as they had a steady influx of immigrants willing to work for cheap. (Much like those immigrants the Democrats/Socialists want to allow into the country, even in violation of federal law.)

Bernie and Hillary and Occasional-Cortex don’t want socialism because they care about the dirty masses. They want it because they intend to be rich and in power. There’s a profit to be made in the modern slave market. Just don’t let the slaves believe that’s what they are.

But if the government takes care of you, they own you.
