Beto O’Rourke Fell Short — but Republicans Fear Texas Will Go Blue in 2020

Read it.

No, they don’t. This is just more wishful thinking on the part of a Voice of the Crust.

  1. Rufus Griswold Says:

It’s just a matter of time given demographics.

  2. RealRick Says:

Not necessarily, Rufus. Voting hasn’t really changed much here since the 1980s. The inner cities (i.e., blacks, gays, and fresh imports from Leftie states) and the Rio Grande Valley vote for the party of Gimme Stuff. And of course Austin votes Leftist because it’s our Sanctuary City for Socialists. Everyone else votes Conservative (Obama’s “clinging to their Bibles and guns” group), which sticks them with the Republicans. “Everyone Else” includes the very large suburbs of the major cities.

Things may actually improve here because this is the last election in which straight ticket voting is allowed. Straight ticket has resulted in a lot of local (and popular) Republicans in Dallas and Houston losing with the deeply funded (by Hollywood and Soros) Democrat Turn Out The Vote.

I’ll hand it to the Dems; they did push with everything they had to try to turn Texas blue during this election. Beto had record-breaking amounts of money to pour into his campaign. These crazy pundits see his vote turnout as success, but they totally ignore the fact that the dirtbag LOST. Cruz didn’t even bother to campaign until the last few months before the election. Cruz was targeted with nearly $100MM of out of state money. If you look at a real, in-state campaign, look at Governor Abbott, who kept his office easily. The Blue Wave is a socialist pipe dream.

Also, despite what the media says, Trump’s Wall is pretty popular with a large segment of the Hispanic community. They don’t want to turn Texas into North Mexico for all the same reasons that the rest of us have.
