Read it.

I suspect that if you examine his wallet you’ll find that Cuomo is plenty green enough.

I spent a few years in NY during Mario Cuomo’s governorship. The family has a political machine that crushes competitors like a car compactor at a junk yard. While they’re not worshiped like the Kennedy’s, the Dems in NY believe every lie that comes floating out of a Cuomo’s mouth like it was gospel. Cynthia Nixon is getting a lot of press, but when the votes are counted, the rout could only be worse if she tried to take a boxing title from Mike Tyson.

Infamously, then-Gov. Mario Cuomo had proposed a 5 cent/gallon increase in gasoline tax. It was very unpopular, so the Governor went on TV and announced that his administration would not increase the tax at the pump. Instead, they would get the money needed by “revenue enhancements” (hang on to your wallets!) which would include a 5 cent/gallon tax on gasoline bulk storage facilities. Predictably (to all but the Left), gasoline prices went up 5 cents and the citizens were furious – at the oil companies.

If you’re good at manipulating the public, and if you live in a place where the majority of the public is easily manipulated, you can literally take a dump on the public and have them thank you for it. In the case of political elections, bet on the machine and not on the press favorite du jour.

Governments love taxes on businesses because most citizens are stupid enough to believe that the company pays the taxes rather than their customers.

I think Cynthia Nixon hit her peak as Laurel the maid in AMADEUS and has been coasting downhill since then.
