If We’re Tearing Down White Supremacy, Start With Planned Parenthood
16th August 2017
It is a rich if tragic irony that the same progressives denouncing Richard Spencer and demanding that municipal statues be torn down for their alleged white supremacist qualities are themselves closely aligned with a white supremacist-tied group. I am speaking, of course, of Planned Parenthood, which is to the abortion-loving Left what Adolf Hitler’s bunker would have become to fascists had Germany not demolished it in the late 1980s: a sort of holy shrine upon which adulation and adoration can be fixated.
The racist, eugenicist roots of Planned Parenthood are well-documented, as is the paranoid racial and eugenic visions of its founder, Margaret Sanger, who spoke of her desire to create “a new race with a racial soul” in the United States, once cheerfully spoke before a women’s Klan meeting, desired to “keep the doors of Immigration closed” to those “whose condition is known to be detrimental to the stamina of the race,” and yearned to accentuate “the better racial elements in our society” so as to erase from the population “defective stocks—those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.”

There you go, trotting out the tired old meme: “Planned Parenthood was founded by a eugenicist.”
That was decades ago. No one in the organization espouses those views today. If they were actively seeking out “defectives” or “underachievers” and pro-actively urging such people to have abortions, then you might have a point. I’ll wait while you find me some literature or advertising that indicates such.
If you’re going to condemn organizations for the views of their inceptors, then you can start with Volkswagen; after all, wasn’t Hitler their biggest booster?

“Tired old meme” is the sort of hand-waving that Leftists use when they get caught with their pants down. However long ago it was, Planned Parenthood was founded by a eugenicist; the fact that ‘it was decades ago’ ought not to bother people who get worked up over slavery that was abolished 150 years ago. Planned Parenthood doesn’t bother seeking anybody out — they encourage all and sundry to get abortions, so in that respect they trashed Margaret Sanger’s principles (if one can call them that) long since.
Any mother who would kill her child for convenience is prima facie defective.
I can see why you would want to sweep ‘the views of their inceptors’ under the rug, considering the history of the Democrat party as the proponents of both slavery and segregation.

No condemnation of Volkswagen, I see…

That only matters to those who are looking for ThoughtCrime. I have no opinion on Volkswagen.
