You can #FightFor15 all you want, kids. But if you demand more money than you’re worth to any employer, you’re going to be replaced. Perhaps by an illegal alien undocumented immigrant. Or, as is becoming increasingly likely, by a robot.

    Automation will come for us all in the end. Then we’ll have two choices: bread and circuses, or a drastic culling of the herd.
    But then, some new pandemic will take care of the latter for us–bird flu, or ebola, or some such as yet unknown virus.
    Crisis averted. Situation normal but still critical.
