And Edward VIII of England was a Nazi sympathizer.
Your point would be…?

He was a fan of Stalin’s economic model too… learned how to turn and economy crisis into a Great Depression. Have to give FDR credit. He was a quick study.

@Kakola: They didn’t “shzt can” Edward; he abdicated. For reasons unrelated to this discussion. And Franklin died before the war ended, so “on and on” hardly applies.
@Whitehawk: Since the depression started on Hoover’s watch well before FDR took office, he couldn’t have turned anything into anything as you suggest. Reading up on your history might help.

We could just say it was Bush’s fault. Just as relevant and lazy an answer as yours.
The crisis started under Hoover…SMH As the banking crisis worsened at one point, Hoover tried to reach President-Elect FDR to coordinate measures with the in-coming president to stem the bleeding but FDR was “unavailable.” Turns out he was vacationing on his yacht off the coast of Florida letting the crisis ripen. Guess golf courses were not as accessible then. Just a glimpse at his attitude about the financial melt down the country was in…
He was first American President to utilized the “never let a good crisis go to waste” and managed to stretch the crisis which would likely have ended with moderate reforms in 2-3 years into another 7 years of Depression.
You should dust off your history books.
