One Response to “TSA Airport Screeners’ Ability to Detect Weapons Declared “Pitiful””
They did spend 20 minutes searching through my briefcase to find a small brass key – which was shaped like a small brass skeleton key on the x-ray screen and which was in the pocket I told them it was in. I was threatened with arrest several times for pointing and saying, “It’s a key and it’s in that pocket.” When they found it, the woman said, “Oh. It’s a key.” I resisted the urge to comment further.
The fact that a key less than 2 inches long (it winds an antique clock) couldn’t possibly be anything dangerous didn’t seem to occur to them.
