Over the past eight years, when Democrats have complained about Republican election tactics, I’ve always wondered, “If they can’t defend themselves against Karl Rove, how could they defend the country against Osama bin Laden?”
So it’s fair, if perhaps disagreeable, to ask the same question vis-a-vis the Republicans and Katie Kouric.

Narcissistic claptrap. The first step toward improving journalism in this country is to close all J-schools and encourage prospective journalists to seek an education relevant to the field they wish to cover. If journalists had actually studied the field they were reporting on they would do a better job.
The next step is to acknowledge the reality that all our media outlets are partisan; I think this would hasten the conversion or creation of more centrist and conservative outlets.
