No, the Alabama Sorority Video Is Not More Offensive to Women Than Donald Trump

Read it.

For reasons that are still not entirely clear to me, a promotional video for a University of Alabama sorority that depicts the girls dancing in bikinis—and doing other stereotypical sorority stuff—provoked an internet backlash against its supposedly anti-feminist content. But that’s not all: the backlash itself has also earned its own backlash.

As you might have guessed, Donald Trump is somehow involved.

*sigh* Women will never be “free” until they are allowed to do with their bodies whatever the hell they want. That includes selling them for sex, making videos that others might find salacious or pornographic, having babies or not having babies, or whatever.

If a woman has been blessed with a beautiful voice, or great musical talent, or great athletic ability, and chooses to earn money by these happy accident of nature, no one thinks twice. But if a woman is blessed with a beautiful face or sexy body and chooses to earn money–or gain recruits for a sorority–using these happy accidents of nature, she’s immediately slut-shamed and vilified. It’s a puzzlement.

    Shaking my head…
