Good article but interchange fees have become a very real problem. I’m working with a group, the Merchants Payment Coalition, to get these lowered. They have turned into a hidden tax on consumers but nobody seems to know exactly how that tax is figured or how much of a purchase is going to the store.
Visa and Mastercard won’t allow merchants at the negotiating table so we’re looking to Congress for help. Check out our website for more details.
