A man was reportedly arrested in California after allegedly trying to run over two Jewish individuals on Friday night with his vehicle in what is now being investigated as a hate crime.
Anti-semite, eh? Probably a Trump supporter or some kind of rabid right-winger, right?
Mohammed Mohammed was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to CBS’s Los Angeles affiliate.

Liberals are preparing for Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris’s possible expulsion from the Senate Judiciary Committee by highlighting she is a black woman.
Findthe ‘black woman’ in this picture.
For reference, this is an actual black woman;
In the event that Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith wins the Mississippi runoff election on Nov. 27, the makeup of the Senate Judiciary Committee will shift in favor of the GOP, with a seat currently held by a Democrat flipping red. Consequently, Harris, the most junior Democratic member of the committee, will likely be squeezed out.
So it’s an entirely mechanical process and there’s no racism involved. But, of course, the Zoo has to shout ‘RACISM’ because that’s all they’ve got to say.

The Task Force’s main line of effort is devoted to recruiting, selecting, training and acculturating superior infantrymen. We can’t go back to the days of “Willie and Joe,” the iconic World War II caricatures of poorly-treated and poorly trained doughboys. From now on, infantry will be treated as an “excepted” category, a force set apart from other arms and the usual personnel bureaucracy. Initiatives the Task Force has launched or is considering include a new system for evaluating recruits for the special attributes of close combat soldiers; increasing the time leaders spend in a specific small unit before being reassigned; adding additional professional schooling for small unit noncommissioned officers; extending the training time for new recruits; selective bonuses and incentives to serve in the close combat branches and policies that exempt close combat units from the distractions of non infantry duties.
I have a copy of the author’s book Scales On War. Highly recommended, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.

Only months after its CEO claimed Twitter “does not take sides,” Twitter unveiled a policy that bans people for disagreeing with trans ideology. A statement as simple as “women aren’t men” can now be a policy violation, as even a liberal feminist discovered.
…
Twitter banned feminist Meghan Murphy’s account for tweeting such statements as “Women aren’t men” and “How are transwomen not men? What is the difference between a man and a transwoman?” She was forced to delete these tweets in order to regain access to her Twitter account, after which she eventually doubled down in her rhetoric saying,
“This is f—— bull—, @twitter. I’m not allowed to say that men aren’t women or ask questions about the notion of transgenderism at all anymore? That a multi-billion dollar company is censoring basic facts and silencing people who ask questions about this dogma is insane.”
Welcome to our world, Megan. Be careful not to step in the Diversity, and watch out for the Inclusion.

When I was just a young man, my grandmother said to me, ‘Young man, you will not let a fruit or a vegetable past your lips unless it has been washed off first.’
I said to her ‘Why is that, grandmother?’
She said, ‘You do not know where that fruit or vegetable has been. More importantly, you do not know what has been put on that fruit or vegetable. So you will rinse first, then eat.’
And that advice has stood me in good stead from that day to this.

The goats are needed because the sheep are too social. I don’t know if it’s true they’ll follow their leader over a cliff, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Sheep ain’t too smart.
…
But when you put this on a national scale, it’s a terrible thing. We’ve seen exactly how horrible it is over things like the Cultural Revolution, or under Stalin, or for that matter under Hitler, or, in a smaller scale — it was a smaller time — the French revolution. Because people will do horrible or destructive things rather than buck the group under any circumstances.

Ultimately the gig economy, even as it uses the latest technology, represents something of a devolution of labor. Although widely associated as “progressive,” the arbiters of the gig economy are, perhaps unconsciously, recreating the conditions that led to the impoverishment of the peasants and mechanics — replaced by slaves — at the end of the Roman Republic, or what befell artisans whose livelihoods were destroyed in the 19th century by machines.

The whole “refugee” thing is a sham. Activists tell would-be illegal immigrants to sneak across the border. If they don’t get caught, head for California or another scofflaw jurisdiction. If they do get caught, immediately request asylum as a refugee. That triggers due process rights under existing, misguided law. While supposedly awaiting a hearing, invaders can simply disappear and make their way to a scofflaw jurisdiction.

Embedded in the cerebral folds of every city planner who’s ever lived, there’s a cluster of neurons that lights up like Las Vegas when confronted with the possibility of a blank slate. It started with Hippodamus, the man Aristotle claimed was the father of urban planning. When the Persians destroyed his hometown of Miletus, Hippodamus discovered a bright side to catastrophe: The attackers had erased all the regrettable improvisations that, over the centuries, had made a mess of the place. Tasked with rebuilding, he seized his chance to impose order upon chaos. And so the concept of the urban grid was born.
A designed city is just right from the viewpoint of the designers but might not be from the viewpoint of those who might have to live there. Rather like a planned economy under communism, and we all know how those turn out.

In other words, even leaving aside immigrants, scientists can see that English people who migrate out of coal towns like Rotherham for the bright lights of the metropolis tend to have higher polygenic scores for educational attainment (i.e., years of education) than English people who stay home in dead end coal towns. Of course, a simpler way to do this would be just to ask people what their years of educational attainment are, but it’s kind of cool that you can get to a similar result by looking at their DNA.

It is only now, a decade after the financial crisis, that the American public seems to appreciate that what we thought was disruption worked more like extraction—of our data, our attention, our time, our creativity, our content, our DNA, our homes, our cities, our relationships. The tech visionaries’ predictions did not usher us into thefuture, but rather a future where they are kings.
They promised the open web, we got walled gardens. They promised individual liberty, then broke democracy—and now they’ve appointed themselves the right men to fix it.
Easily seen here is the proglodyte fondness for change-for-the-sake-of-change-because-the-result-is-inevitably-progress. Facebook is the poster child for this process, with Google rapidly degenerating into a cheap copy.

I think we ought to do a Natural Selection Border: If you can get over the first fence with razor wire, through the minefield, past the dogs and the guys on the towers with machine guns, and over the second fence with razor wire, then you’ve earned your way to a green card. Be sure to be wearing a tag with the name and address of your next of kin.

But Carmon, and others who’ve helped turn Ginsburg into a pop-culture icon, are deluding themselves. Ginsburg is a mere mortal. Falling down is the leading cause of accidental death in people over 85. The actuarial table is not in her favor. There’s a real possibility Ginsburg will not outlast the Trump administration or live long enough for a Democrat to replace her. The situation today is one many liberal lawyers feared years ago and worked hard to avert. But the feisty justice rebuffed them all, a decision that makes all the hero worship hard for some of us to stomach.
We anticipate a show trial and the public execution of Stephanie Mencimer any day now.

The Star Tribune never tires of creative ways to tout the alleged benefits of the immigrant waves transforming Minnesota. When one looks for an assessment of the costs, or an assessment of whether the costs might outweigh the benefits, one must look elsewhere.
This weekend the Star Tribune touts the coming of “diversity” to the business of craft beer. It reads to me like unintended satire. First we have the obligatory passing of the white man. We have the obligatory obsession with race.
Apparently the paucity of Negro Beer is the fault of white people … like everything else.

The historical parallel between Jews and Asians is striking for a number of reasons—including the fact that both cases involve an explicit rejection of the idea that academic merit alone could be a tenable basis for admission. Like today’s affirmative-action supporters at Harvard, the gentiles of a century ago also started poking into applicants’ personal lives to discover what their “character” might be. And what a weasel word that turned out to be.
The winnowing campaign a century ago began with a request for personal essays by candidates, describing their activities and interests, and promoting their leadership abilities. Fine: That sort of thing still goes on now. But then, the universities also began asking for photographs (wink, wink). By the fall of 1922, Jerome Karabel wrote in his 2005 book The Chosen: The Hidden History of Admission and Exclusion at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, “applicants were required to answer questions on ‘Race and Color,’ ‘Religious Preference,’ ‘Birthplace of Father,’ and ‘What change, if any, has been made since birth in your own name or that of your father? (Explain fully).’”

I’ll bet you don’t know what ‘orientalism’ is. The author doesn’t, either, but it’s an ‘ism’ so it must be bad. Proglodytes love ‘ism’s, because it gives them a heresy to rail about.
Despite what some have claimed, the video is clearly not an homage to Chinese culture – but instead a racist depiction of the white West’s orientalist perception of Chinese culture.
Whenever a journalist says ‘clearly’ it’s a hand-wave regarding something that isn’t clear at all except to people who have the same delusional view of the world as the writer. The advertisement was clearly a humorous reference to how badly certain Western habits, like pizza, don’t match the way non-Western people live, like eating with chopsticks. The writer, of course, is incompetent to make any judgments about ‘the white West’s orientalist perception of Chinese culture’, because that’s just ‘burn the witch!’ fulmination.

I recently spent several weeks in the slum districts of Nairobi, researching al-Shabaab’s criminal activities in the Horn of Africa. I expected to learn about the traditional criminal practices of terrorist groups: drugs, arms, money laundering, and perhaps even a regional particularity like sugar smuggling. What I wasn’t expecting to discover was a highly structured, hierarchical network in which sex workers sell information gleaned from their customers — specifically, corrupt police officers — to al-Shabaab. As one interviewee noted, “If you want information here, you use the prostitutes and street kids — they see everything, go everywhere, and nobody notices them.”

The pragmatism of Kennedy and Kirkpatrick has guided U.S. post World War II foreign policy for 70 years. The only major exceptions were the Carter and Obama years.
Yet the Washington Post, in a hissy fit of an editorial, advances the absurd claim that President Trump, by not scuttling relations with the current Saudi regime over the slaying of one regime opponent, has “undermin[ed] the basic understanding that has worked to the United States’ advantage since World War II under presidents both Republican and Democratic.” Because Trump hasn’t insisted on accountability for those who planned and committed the murder of the Post’s man Jamal Khashoggi, the editors warn that “U.S. standing in the world — and, therefore, U.S. influence and prosperity — will dwindle.”
