Russia foils plot to blow up Moscow to St Petersburg commuter train
16th August 2011
Russia’s FSB intelligence service has arrested four suspected Islamist terrorists and charged them with plotting to blow up a high-speed commuter train travelling between Moscow and St Petersburg.
That’s some fine Religion o’ Peaceā¢ you got there, Mohammed.

They’ll probably transport them to some nice tropical island – like Cuba – and hold them for years in a nice facility with plenty of food, exercise equipment, and full access to their attorneys. There will probably be protest marches in Moscow to set them free and the TV network will scramble to get interviews.
Or maybe they’ll torture them to death and toss the body parts into a pit – if for no other reason than they’ve seen how the Americans handle terrorists and don’t want to follow that path.

Rather, they will do the latter not by reference to America and/or Americans, but because it’s traditionally what the Russians do.
And if you think that Gitmo is so cozy and cushy, why don’t you volunteer to be an inmate there for a year? You can write about your wonderful experience after you get out.
Leave aside that the inmates in Gitmo have never been charged. That right there differentiates them from the plotters referenced, whose alleged crimes are openly stated.
I don’t want them to go free, necessarily. I just want them either charged or released. That’s how we do things (supposedly) in Moral America. Holding people indefinitely without charges on the grounds that they are “dangerous to the state” is the first BIG step on the road to totalitarianism.
