Sheila Jackson Lee loses Houston Mayor’s Race to Tough-on-Crime State Senator

City elections are officially nonpartisan in Houston, the country’s fourth-largest city with more than 2.3 million people, but Democrats have held the office since 1982.
Note that they include a picture of her but not one of him, perhaps because he is not a Person of Color.

Sadly, it’s a case of “lesser of two evils” in the win column. Whitmire is white, old, and pretty much a commie through and through. When he talks, he sounds a bit like Biden, focusing on things like pot holes instead of how to finance a quickly sinking bureaucracy. He smartly stayed away from mentioning The Beast, SJL, though she had no such problems going after him. I think she expected to win the general election and was out of money when it came time for the runoff. I didn’t see a single SJL commercial, while Whitmire’s droning monologue popped up during every other commercial break.
I do not expect SJL to crawl off and die in obscurity. She’s far too mean for that and she will be doing something to make us hate her even more before the Devil calls her home.
