My Dad hated everything about being in the military except SOS. We had it (creamed, chipped beef on toast, or, in military vernacular, s*** on a shingle) at least once a month.
I like it. Also, spam.
Liver was also a common meal when I was young, but I never learned to like it. The last time I ate liver was 1973. Things that fall out when you butcher an animal are cat food.

The key to liver is not to overcook it. It also helps to combine it with a food with a complimentary flavor, like bacon.
