In Washington state, both the House and Senate have passed a bill that would allow the state Department of Children, Youth and Families, not the parents, to be the contacts if a child who runs away is trying to get an abortion or transgender medical procedures. The bill is currently on Democrat Gov. Jay Inslee’s desk.

In California, a bill that would let 12-year-olds leave home if a mental health professional OKs it, no parental permission required, has passed in the state Assembly and is now winding its way through the state Senate.

That didn’t take long. The mayor-elect of Chicago, Democrat Brandon Johnson, responded to a group of teenagers who attacked cars and assaulted drivers in the Loop last weekend by what sounds like justification for their behavior.

While saying he does not “condone the destructive activity” (there’s a euphemism) and that it “has no place in Chicago” (when it increasingly does), Johnson added that “it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”

The second part of his statement nullifies the first.

The game is rigged as far as the ‘Green Transition’ is concerned, with specific technologies and companies receiving support from international institutions and governments to ‘transition’ the surplus value of the working and middle classes to themselves. For now, this has involved highlighting some environmental issues over others (like CO2 emissions over microplastics).

However, the rigging is only partial and, like much of what comes out of Brussels, haphazard. There remains plenty of room for citizen initiatives to siphon off funds and build entities that would add value to the European economy, employ Europeans, and result in genuine community-level resilience in the face of global supply chain vulnerability.

On March 27, nearly a month ago, Audrey Hale murdered six people in a Nashville school before herself being killed by police. Like substantially all mass murderers, Hale was deeply troubled. Among other things, shortly before her rampage she decided that she was, or wanted to be, a man. Her murders came immediately before a national “Trans Day of Vengeance” that was promoted with violent imagery. And the trans movement has, in general, been radical and frequently violent.

After Hale’s death, Nashville authorities announced that she had left behind a number of writings including a “manifesto.” It is reasonable to assume that these writings would shed some light on her motivations. I wrote here about Hale’s manifesto and the reasons why it is likely to be of public interest, notwithstanding the fact that the ravings of mass murderers should normally be given little attention.

Mass shooters’ “manifestos” are normally published, especially when they can be used to put the “right wing” in a bad light. And at the time, Nashville authorities said that Hale’s manifesto would be made public after it had been analyzed by the FBI.

But it has yet to see the light of day.

Most rich people who take part in politics are on the Left, which is a major reason why the Democratic Party and its candidates consistently have so much more money than the Republican Party and its candidates.

I have long been bemused by rich liberals like Warren Buffett, who tell us their tax rates are too low. Really? Guess what: the IRS will cash your check! If you seriously think you aren’t paying enough taxes, or you actually believe the government spends money more wisely and effectively than you do, there is an easy solution. Write the IRS a check, I guarantee they will cash it.

Yet, strangely, I have never heard of a rich liberal doing this, even though most of these people are second or third generation beneficiaries who cannot comprehend how hard their ancestors worked to accumulate the wealth that they enjoy.

On Wednesday, a group of rich people held a press conference in Washington, urging Congress to pass a 90% tax rate on the wealthy. Stephen Moore crashed their party. It turns out that these rich liberals don’t actually want to turn their own money over to the government. The woman who pipes up at the end is, I understand, a Disney.

The point is that these mooks don’t want taxes raised on them; they want them raised on other people, people who don’t make as much money as they do and therefore would be put at a comparative disadvantage financially by higher tax rates. The ‘write a check’ response is all it takes to strip the word-salad disguise off of this attempted robbery.

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley called out Newsweek after the outlet reached out for comment about the color of a dress she wore to her daughter’s wedding.

Why is it that leftists keep making it harder for people to stay clean?

Hygiene really sets conservatives and leftists apart. We keep seeing leftist celebrities bragging that they don’t bathe much. Ashton Kutcher, for example, says he never showers. Brad Pitt is notorious for stinking. Leftists push low-flow shower heads that make good rinsing difficult. They stuck us with efficient washing machines that put mold in our clothes no matter what we do to fix the problem.

Something I did not discuss in the show, but it will be a topic going forward, is the candidacy of Robert Kennedy Jr. It may be the greatest example of history repeating itself, but with a wry smile, we will ever see. Most people will think of his father’s run in 1968, but it more closely matches his uncle’s run in 1980. Ted Kennedy decided to challenge Carter because Carter was weak.

Many have noted the parallels between this age and the 1970’s. Trump is a good analog for Nixon. Biden is Carter. We have stagflation due to mismanagement of the money supply and reckless spending. The politicians have thrown open the jails and stopped prosecuting criminals, so the cities are falling into chaos. We now even have a standoff with the Russians. It is like old times.

Of course, the irony is that the people in charge today were in the streets causing trouble back in the 1970’s. It is as if their last hurrah is going to be reliving their youth at your expense, one last time. The grand finale will be a Kennedy challenging their Jimmy Carter, thus ushering in the end of the madness. Or will it be a Sirhan Sirhan, this time in drag, assassinating a Kennedy to kick-off the madness?
