“Nothing like this will be built again”

26th January 2011

Charlie Stross tours a nuclear reactor in Scotland.

Unfortunately, it’s due to socialists like him that ‘nothing like this will be built again’, but Charlie is apparently too busy with life to connect the dots. Ah, well. Enjoy the tour.

EPROMs? Seems like state-of-the-art could use a few upgrades.

My memory of using EPROMs is that you can keep them from being erased by putting a piece of tape over the window. I guess no writer wants to do a lot of fact-checking.

The best thing about nukes is that you can use them to torture libs. When one gets to whining about polar bears and melting ice, you can shut them up by agreeing with their premise and then saying, “So let’s just replace all those coal and oil fired power plants with nukes!” Be prepared to explain to passers-by that the adressee isn’t epileptic and that the seizure is brought on by facing ‘reality’.
