    Which goes to support my position that the defense budget is not about protecting the country, but rather about protecting the jobs of defense contractors and their suppliers.
    It’s the Republican version of a government-subsidized jobs program, with results as you see.

    The difference being that we actually need to spend money on national defense, even if we don’t need all of the national defense that we pay for.

    As opposed to most of the stuff Democrats want to spend money on, which mostly goes to ensure the existence of a massive Underclass dependent on getting free stuff from the government and willing to vote for any Democrat that will deliver it. The Republican jobs program produces actual stuff that can be used, while the Democrat jobs program just produces unwed mothers wanting to “swipe yo’ EBT”.
