Why is President Bush so much more popular than President Obama among Iraq and Afghanistan veterans? That’s an easy one. Bush was the president of let’s roll. Obama is the president of let’s retreat.

The designers of the A10 managed to dig up a surviving Nazi pilot who held the record for killing some phenomenal number of Soviet tanks. He explained to them all the characteristics that a fixed wing aircraft needed in order to successfully attack ground forces. They incorporated those ideas and the A10 has proven to be one of the finest ground-support aircraft ever built. Of course, Pentagon desk jockeys all know that great aircraft must fly very fast and very high, so they hated the low and slow A10 from day one. It’s terrific success rate just pisses them off all the more.
It’s almost amazing how much this becomes an analogy for the way Progressives hate the successes of the Conservatives.
