They point to the case of Brian Reid, a 52-year-old manager who was fired by Google in 2004 \u2014 nine days before the company announced plans to go public \u2014 after his supervisors, including the company\u2019s vice president for engineering operations, allegedly called him a poor \u201ccultural fit,\u201d an \u201cold guy\u201d and a \u201cfuddy-duddy\u201d with ideas \u201ctoo old to matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"453\" data-total-count=\"4084\">&#8230;<\/p>\n<p id=\"story-continues-8\" class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"222\" data-total-count=\"4919\">In an interview, Norman S.
