I can think of some Democrat public officials for which jewelry made from smog would be an improvement.

There are scammers and then there are scam artists. A scammer might sell you a box with a brick inside instead of a DVD player, but a scam artist will sell you a time share on Mars and leave you feeling like you got a bargain.
The linked article describes an ESP (electrostatic precipitator), which is a fairly common device used on power plant exhaust stacks. There’s nothing new or innovative – except for the artist’s ability to sell it to the public (much like Piltdown Man). He took advantage of the public’s perception of “smog” and it’s aversion to math. (Or maybe just the media’s aversion to math.) If anyone looked at the number of cubic feet of air in an affected region, it would be obvious that this fairly expensive piece of equipment was doing statistically nothing. Probably worse than that, the electricity used is probably creating more pollution than the machine is eliminating.
He’s not quite up to the Al Gore level yet, i.e., the global level, but still a pretty artistic rip-off.

Well, then, let’s get right on it. Let’s set one up near Obama and see how much air pollution it sequesters.
