This sets up the road to failure. The most critical factor in a Scout group is leaders. Adding girls to the mix means women have to be recruited as leaders. Women willing to spend their weekend camping in the woods are uncommon. Wives who would be happy seeing their husbands head off for a weekend in the woods with another woman are even less common. So the overall number of leaders declines, and the organization heads for failure.
